At the blue knot, we believe in weaving contemporary spaces by delivering the utmost quality products and services at affordable prices in a sustainable manner. The blue knot is built on a foundation of Trust and stability, synonymous with the colour blue. Spanning over 1.2 million square feet, our parent facility, headquartered in Bhadohi, is 100% vertically integrated which reaffirms our commitment to quality.
We are an integrated home-solution company with products including soft furnishings like carpets, cushions, table linen as well as wall art, with a firm focus on aesthetics and sustainability.

Yes. Every piece is handcrafted by artisans in Bhadohi, India's carpet-weaving hub, at our own vertically integrated facility. Depending on the design, a rug is hand-tufted, hand-knotted or handwoven, and the product page tells you which.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Ready-to-ship products are dispatched within 10 days. Made-to-order tufted and woven rugs are dispatched in 4 to 6 weeks. For hand-knotted rugs, please confirm the timeline with us before ordering. Shipping is free across India, and larger orders may arrive in more than one parcel.
Can I return or exchange a rug?
Because each piece is handmade, we accept returns only for items that arrive damaged or defective. Email info@theblueknot.com within 48 hours of delivery with photos, and once verified we replace it at no cost. Sale items can't be returned but can be exchanged for another available product.
Will the rug look exactly like the photos?
Very close. A 5 to 10% colour variation is natural with hand-dyed yarn and different phone or laptop screens, and isn't treated as a defect. If you want to see more of a design before ordering, message us on WhatsApp.
Can I get a rug in a custom size or colour?
Yes. Pick any of our designs and change its size or colours through Customisation, or create a design from scratch with Bespoke Rugs.
What's the difference between hand-tufted and hand-knotted?
Hand-tufted rugs are made by punching yarn into a canvas with a hand-held tool, then backed. They're quicker to make and more affordable. Hand-knotted rugs have every knot tied by hand on a loom, which makes them denser, longer-lasting and heirloom pieces, and they take longer to make.
What size rug should I buy for my living room?
Choose a size where at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs rest on the rug. A 5x8 ft rug suits most living rooms with a 3-seater sofa; larger rooms or L-shaped sofas usually need 6x9 ft or bigger. Marking the size on your floor with tape before ordering helps.
How do I take care of my rug?
Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush, blot spills straight away instead of rubbing, and rotate the rug every few months so it wears evenly. Some shedding in new wool rugs is normal and settles with time. See our full rug care guide.
